Artist Statement

Clothing forms the connective tissue of my practice. I approach textiles as repositories of memory and time, embodying both personal intimacy and collective identity. Garments are often the first markers through which we encounter one another, shaping recognition and belonging. When represented in spaces where they have been historically absent, they affirm overlooked identities and histories. I am drawn to the ways worn objects preserve memory, whether recent, ancestral, or inherited, and I explore these narratives through portraiture, apparel design, and fashion writing.
